Charminar: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh joint action committee (JAC) against NPR, CAA and NRC announced on Tuesday that it will hold a million march at Necklace Road on January 4. The march was scheduled for December 28 but had to be postponed as cops refused permission. The JAC approach high court on December 27 and put off the agitation till the court delivered its order
Following a fresh directive from the court, the JAC has decided to hold the march on January 4. It will seek fresh permission from the police.
Tahreek Muslim Shabban president Mushtaq Mallik, who is a convener of the JAC, said that the march will be conducted at 2 pm. “We have held a core committee meeting where it was unanimously decided to conduct the million march peacefully on January 4,” said Mallik. He appealed to the people to participate in large numbers and oppose the “draconian” law. Forty organisations, including few political parties except AIMIM and Tameer e Millat, are part of the JAC. — Omer Bin Tahe
