IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao emphasized the need to give priority for the domestic manufacturing industry under the Centre’s ambitious Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. He felt that construction of high-speed transport network, new airports, major irrigation projects and infrastructure development in industrial parks, could give fresh impetus to the construction equipment industry in the post-COVID era.
The Minister rolled the red carpet for the investors in the Construction Equipment industry for setting up their units in the State. He expressed willingness to take policy decisions within the limits of the State government, to facilitate their operations in the State.
Participating in a webinar organised by the Indian Construction Equipment Manufactures’ Association (ICEMA) on Saturday, Rama Rao said the State government will welcome the investors and support them for establishing their units in the industrial park exclusively developed for the construction equipment manufacturing companies. He stated that lot of construction activity was happening in the State including irrigation projects, road development and also industrial infrastructure development among others, providing the much-needed opportunities for the construction equipment manufacturers.
The Minister said welfare and development were both top priorities for the State government since the formation of Telangana State. “Hence, we extended all support to the migrant workers who were stranded in the State during the lock-down. They were treated as our guests and development partners. As a result, they returned to work soon after the lock-down was relaxed, restoring normalcy in the construction sector,” he added. He stated that the COVID-19 had its impact on all sectors and the State government was putting all efforts to resume the economic growth.
