Hyderabad: On Wednesday, City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi commended GHMC sanitation workers for their dedicated efforts in maintaining cleanliness during the immersion of Ganesh idols, which began on September 7 as part of the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.
“A commendable feat, GHMC teams worked tirelessly to ensure the city remained clean. Nearly 12,500 sanitation workers labored around the clock to clear garbage along the procession routes,” she said. Additionally, GHMC officers provided food and water to devotees awaiting immersion. “Kudos to every GHMC employee working on the ground,” she added.
The GHMC deployed vehicles and sanitation workers to manage waste at the immersion points and along the designated routes approved by the police for the idol immersions.
