Hyderabad: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, UST, a digital transformation solutions company, has revitalized a previously barren lake into a valuable water resource in the Nizampet area of the city.
In partnership with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, UST’s restoration of Bongulakunta Lake will benefit approximately 250 families in the surrounding community and provide over 1,000 residents with a reliable water supply from their borewells.
Alongside the lake restoration, a walkway has been developed around the pond, creating a community space that includes a children’s park and seating areas for recreation and community engagement.
According to a press release, UST’s CSR team in Hyderabad played a crucial role in revitalizing the lake, which had suffered significant water loss due to drought and neglect. The project features the construction of a restoration bund and a water storage facility to support the lake’s recovery.
