Hrithik Roshan, the acclaimed superstar, is presently in the midst of filming his upcoming movie “Fighter,” which is being directed by the talented Siddharth Anand, known for his blockbuster hits. The movie’s third schedule is currently underway at the highly secure Dundigal Air Force Academy near Hyderabad. It is noteworthy that this is the first time any actor has filmed at this location, which has no network coverage or electronic devices due to its high-security protocol.
The shooting team has been utilizing their time at the Air Force Academy by putting in 10 hours of work daily. The academy holds paramount significance in the storyline of “Fighter,” as this schedule captures the early days of Hrithik’s character, Shamsher Pathania, alias “Patty,” as a trainee in the Air Force cadet program.
During the Hyderabad schedule, the team will depict Hrithik’s character’s journey from an ordinary young boy to one of the most skilled fighter pilots in the Indian Air Force. They will shoot a pivotal segment of the film that includes the Pass Out Parade, where the flying cadets are awarded a symbolic badge of wings after completing their training.
As per sources, the team has been shooting in the non-restricted areas of the location while adhering to all the Air Force training institute’s laid-down protocols. The use of smart electronic devices is strictly prohibited on the premises, and Hrithik and his team are not allowed to carry smartphones or laptops, among other restricted items. Additionally, photography and sharing of posts on social media showcasing the academy premises are also prohibited.
Nevertheless, the “Fighter” team is content to comply with these operational protocols, and Hrithik himself has been motivated by the Air Force Academy lifestyle, waking up at 6 am and retiring at 8 pm.
“Fighter” is India’s maiden aerial action film and marks Siddharth Anand’s most ambitious project to date. It will also serve as his debut production under the banner name of his production house, Marflix Pictures. This movie will be the third collaboration between Siddharth and Hrithik, following the successes of “Bang Bang” (2014) and “War” (2019).
The cast also includes Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor in crucial roles, both appearing onscreen with Hrithik Roshan for the first time. “Fighter” is presented by Viacom 18 studios in conjunction with Marflix Pictures. The Siddharth Anand-directed film is slated for release on January 25, 2024, as a Republic Day weekend offering.
