Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra Group, will assume the role of Chairperson for the Young India Skill University. The university is set to be developed in Mucherla, Ranga Reddy district.
The announcement comes as the Chief Minister tours the United States on Monday, August 5, to attract investments for Telangana.
Recently, the Chief Minister met with Anand Mahindra to discuss the Mahindra Group’s investments in the state and other matters. Anand Mahindra confirmed that his company would invest in and send a team to the Skill University.
The Skill University will offer 17 courses, including those in pharma, construction, banking, financial services, e-commerce and logistics, retail, animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics. It aims to train 20,000 youth annually, with the number set to increase in phases.
Established under a public-private partnership model, the university will have its headquarters and main campus in Hyderabad.
