Bhumi was founded on August 15, 2006, with a strong passion to change today’s society and build a better India. The organisation provides youngsters with an opportunity to serve society and bridges the gap between the educated and the uneducated.
The volunteers at Bhumi educate and mentor underprivileged children from orphanages and village community centers across the country to give them a better future, which benefits the children as well as our country. The learning experience at the organization is mutual as volunteers gain perspective and the experience to mold themselves into tomorrow’s leaders.
Today Bhumi is one of India’s largest independent and youth volunteer non-profit organizations. Here are some numbers that showcase the strength of the organizations
GIFT SCRAP AND EDUCATE A CHILD
Recently, Volunteers at Bhumi have identified a way in which every individual can educate underprivileged children by donating the scrap. The initiative “Gift Scrap and Educate a Child” came into existence in mid-September and has been a successful activity so far. A big Kudos to Decathlon Secunderabad who recently came forward to be one of our first scrap contributors. The Decathlon Secunderabad employees volunteered to accumulate almost 360KG of Scrap that had only carton boxes. Apart from this, the scrap is also collected from other Household communities.
On behalf of Bhumi, we invite all the Hyderabad residents to come forward and support this small initiative. We would also like to inform you that the initiative which started 3 weeks ago, Bhumi Volunteers have collected almost 2459KGs of Scrap. In the next coming festival days almost, every resident will be cleaning their houses which will generate scrap. We request all the residents to please segregate your waste into Dry Waste and Wet Waste and help us by giving at least 10 KG of your scrap.
