HYDERABAD: The success stories of T-Hub will be showcased in schools and colleges even in the rural areas to encourage students to come up with innovations, as part of “intinta innovation programme” of the government.
The IT department will also extend internet connection to all the rythu vedikas and educate farmers on using various technologies and latest practices to enhance the quality and quantity of crop production.
Information technology minister KT Rama Rao said this during the question hour in the assembly on Wednesday and said as part of the Innovation-Hub (I-Hub) programme with ICRISAT, all the Rytu Vedikas being constructed in the State would be connected with internet, thereby extending the benefits of IT to the agriculture sector too.
Technology will be used to disseminate information such as pest control, when to sow and harvest through the Rytu Vedikas, he said.
He said that the 3.50 lakh square feet facility T HUB-II being set up at a cost of Rs 276 crore at Rayadurgam will be operational by December 2020. It can accommodate 1,000 start ups at the same time.
The minister said the T-Hub established in November 2015 has transformed as the largest and the best technology incubator in the country. The number of startup companies has increased from 400 to 2000 plus. The T HUB encouraged 400 companies to launch corporate innovations,” he said.
So far 1,120 start ups have garnered Rs 1800 crore investment and provided employment to over 2500 people.
Also, exchange of ideas between innovators of different countries are being encouraged through T Bridge. The T Hub concept will also be extended to two tier cities. The hubs are being established in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam and Warangal cities which would concentrate more on social and rural innovation.
