Hyderabad: On Sunday, May 18, Miss World contestants gained insight into Telangana’s development during their visit to the Secretariat and the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Hyderabad.
As part of the state’s initiative to promote tourism, the Miss World contestants were introduced to Telangana’s robust safety measures, rich cultural heritage, and historical significance.
At the TGICCC, they were briefed on the state’s cutting-edge safety and emergency response infrastructure. The contestants observed how real-time data from various departments is integrated into a centralized system, enabling swift action during emergencies, traffic congestion, and natural disasters, all monitored through an extensive CCTV network.
A live demonstration of traffic monitoring, facial recognition, and the T-SAFE app captivated the attention of the Miss World contestants throughout.
They received a grand welcome featuring mounted police, a pipe band, a K9 dog show, and an arms exhibition, offering them a firsthand glimpse into the advanced weaponry and protective gear employed by the Telangana police.
At the Secretariat, the contestants paid floral tribute to the Telangana Talli statue. Participants from several countries—including India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Wales—joined in the tribute, highlighting the spirit of global unity and respect for local heritage.
The Secretariat visit also featured the screening of four audio-visual presentations, offering the audience a compelling journey through Telangana’s rich history, vibrant culture, remarkable development, and Hyderabad’s emergence as a global investment hub.
