Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner CV Anand announced on Wednesday that the entire 25,000-strong Hyderabad City Police force, along with other units, worked tirelessly in two shifts overnight to facilitate the immersion of thousands of Ganesh idols.
In a tweet, he remarked, “By 5 a.m., the situation was much better than last year, with the tail end reaching MJ Market junction and only a few hundred vehicles remaining on the approach roads. We aim to have the roads cleared for general traffic by 8 a.m. today.”
The city police, in collaboration with other relevant departments and the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful immersion of idols at Tank Bund, NTR Ghat, and People’s Plaza on Necklace Road.
