Hyderabad: Marut Drones received the FTCCI Excellence Award 2023-24 for Product Innovation in the SME category. The award, presented by Telangana’s leading trade and industry body, recognized Marut’s Direct Seeding Device, which secured the world’s first utility patent for 20 years under the Patents Act, 1970 earlier this year.
Telangana IT&EC Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu presented the award to Marut Drones during a ceremony held at Federation House in Hyderabad.
With this innovation, Marut Drones aims to promote the widespread use of direct seeding drones for rice cultivation at the grassroots level. The patent covers a multi-utility attachment, allowing farmers to use drones for both pesticide spraying and direct seeding, thereby enhancing Return on Investment (ROI). The drone facilitates the aerial dispersion of various rice seeds through a precisely engineered multi-nozzle mechanism.
During the event, Mr. Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO and Founder of Marut Drones, remarked, “We are deeply honored by the FTCCI Excellence Award. This accolade affirms the hard work and commitment of our team. It embodies Marut’s mission to support food security through technological innovation. We are focused on establishing India as a premier drone technology hub through our ongoing research.”
Marut’s efforts to promote direct seeding in rice farming via drone technology pave the way for rural employment opportunities and have the potential to disrupt the global rice market.
