Hyderabad: The annual monsoon music festival, Barkha Ritu, returns to Hyderabad on Saturday, August 3, at Taramati Baradari, featuring eminent Indian classical musicians. This year’s lineup includes Devaki Pandit (vocals), accompanied by Prashant Pandav on tabla and Abhinay Ravande on harmonium, and Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia (flute), accompanied by Satyajit Talwalkar on tabla.
Organized by Banyan Tree Events, Barkha Ritu is celebrating its 23rd year. The festival will showcase musicians performing specialized ragas traditionally reserved for the monsoon season, which are not typically performed during the rest of the year. These ragas are uniquely composed to evoke and mirror the emotions and sentiments associated with the rains, both for the performer and the listener, according to a press release.
