Hyderabad: A task force team from the Telangana Food Safety Department conducted raids at three restaurants in the city.
During the raids, numerous irregularities were discovered.
Live cockroach infestations were observed at one of the restaurants in Hyderabad. On August 6, the team inspected Madhura Restaurant and Bar in Laxminagar Colony, Ramanthapur, to assess the hygiene of the food and the cleanliness of the premises.
Moreover, a live cockroach infestation was found in the establishment, along with signs of a possible rodent infestation.

At Sree Swathi Tiffins in Maheshwari Nagar, Habsiguda, the team discovered damaged and fungus-infected coconuts and jaggery. Additionally, drain water stagnation was observed near the cooking area, and live cockroach infestations were also found.
Additionally, the kitchen premises were found to be in a highly unhygienic condition, with the refrigerator being rusted and unsanitary.

During a raid at Grand Lakeview Restaurant and Bar on Uppal-LB Nagar Road, the team discovered that windows and doors were not close-fitted and lacked insect-proof screens. Inside the restaurant, food items stored in the refrigerator were uncovered and unlabeled. Additionally, vegetables were found stored directly on the floor.
Inspections at Schools and Hostels in Telangana
In addition to the raids on restaurants in Hyderabad, inspections were recently conducted at various schools and hostels across Telangana. During these inspections, the administration and cooking staff were educated on kitchen protocols and best practices to ensure food safety and hygiene.
Over the past few months, the task force team has been actively conducting raids at various restaurants, PG accommodations, and hostels to ensure the maintenance of food quality and safety standards.
