IAS officer K. Ilambarithi took charge as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Thursday, October 18, 2024. He was assigned Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the post following the repatriation of Amrapali Kata to the Andhra Pradesh cadre, along with other senior bureaucrats from Telangana.
A 2005 batch IAS officer, Mr. Ilambarithi began his career as the Sub-Collector of Asifabad and has held various key positions, including GHMC Zonal Commissioner of Khairatabad and District Collector of Khammam during the undivided State. After the bifurcation, he continued as the Collector of Khammam and Nirmal districts. In 2019, he transitioned to central service as Director of Census Operations. Prior to his current role, he served as Telangana’s Transport Commissioner.
